Sword is the purest mechanics gamemode on MCTiers. No crystals, no potions, no healing management — just reach, strafing, hit timing and the discipline to keep a combo going without overcommitting.

What the gamemode tests

Testers watch spacing above everything else. Sword PvP is decided by who controls the distance: too close and you trade hits you did not need to take, too far and you never land. On top of that they look at strafe consistency, critical-hit discipline and whether you can convert a small advantage into a full combo.

How to climb the Sword tier list

The most common plateau is mechanical consistency under pressure. Players can strafe cleanly in a warm-up and then fall apart after losing two rounds. Practise full sets rather than single fights, and train yourself to reset between rounds. In the higher tiers the difference between players is rarely the best exchange — it is the worst one.
